Entries open: the Sax Film Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary
The Sax International Film Festival (FICS) reaches a historic milestone with its next edition, which runs from 5 to 11 July 2026. Organised by the Sax Film and Audiovisual Association (ACAS), the production company Cinestesia and Sax Town Council, the festival has officially opened entries to filmmakers from all over the world.
Call for entries and competitive sections
Filmmakers have until 23 May 2026 to submit their work through Festhome and Filmfreeway. As usual, the festival keeps its prestigious status as a qualifying festival for the Goya Awards in the fiction, animation and documentary short film categories, each with a €500 prize.
As well as these categories, the jury will give awards for the best feature film project (€500), best short film from Alicante (€250) and the UMH audience award (€600). There are also special categories for works on social themes, in Valencian and short films generated using artificial intelligence.
Entry requirements
The call is open to works of any genre and theme produced after 1 January 2024, with a maximum running time of 59 minutes for short films. Feature film projects are accepted at any stage of production, and you can attach material such as teasers or scripts. All films screened must have dialogue or subtitles in Spanish.
This 20th edition confirms the festival as a must for local and international talent in the province of Alicante, offering a highly visible platform and a direct connection with the national industry.
