Gastro Cinema 2026: a week of film and food in Alicante

Gastro Cinema, Alicante’s film and food festival directed by Vicente Seva, holds its 8th edition from 13 to 19 November. A week in which film meets cooking, local produce and some of the city’s best spaces.
Shorts, films and tastings
The heart of the festival is the MARQ, with screenings of Wonka (Friday 13) and The Hundred-Foot Journey (Sunday 15), and three «Caviar de Cortometrajes» short film sessions on 16, 17 and 18 November. Screenings at the MARQ are free with prior registration.
Around them there are tastings, film-themed cocktails, vermouth with music, a jazz brunch, presentations of food books and children’s workshops at different venues across Alicante.
Closing gala
On Thursday 19 November the festival closes at the Teatre Arniches with a gala presented by José Ángel Ponsoda. The award for best short film, worth €500, is presented there, along with the Gastro Cinema Solidarity Award, which this year goes to the Mediterranean Gastronomy Centre UA-Dénia (Gasterra). Invitations for the gala are available from 2 November.
Check times and registration in the official programme (in Spanish).
