The importance of habits in an actor’s career

When people talk about preparing as an actor, the same advice always comes up: get enough rest, eat a balanced diet, look after your physical and emotional health and keep training.
All of that matters, but there is another factor that often goes unnoticed: daily habits.
In a conversation with Alicante Light Film, actress Lidia Mínguez shared a simple but very revealing thought on how she approaches her career. Beyond the acting itself, she has built a routine into her day: spending an hour every morning looking for castings, checking opportunities and keeping up with what is happening in the industry.
Many actors put most of their energy into training, rehearsals or the projects they are working on. But finding new opportunities is part of the job too.
Waiting for offers to come in may work at times, but the reality is that most careers are built by being proactive.
Checking casting platforms, looking at open calls, updating your materials or researching new projects are tasks that, although not always visible, are part of the craft.
