El meditador: Alejandro Palacios’s silence at Alicante Cinema
Short film
Filmmaker Alejandro Palacios presents his short film El meditador (The Meditator) in the official Alicante Cinema section at the next Alicante Film Festival.
The film opts for a purely visual, silent narrative. Carried by the contemplative silence of Rubén Bassi, it follows a man who decides to sit down and meditate in a public park. His stillness and complete silence act as a mirror for those around him, causing an initial unease that leads to small but meaningful changes in some of the people watching him.
With performances by Inma Giménez and Vicenzo Privé, the piece explores universal themes such as other people’s judgement, the way others see us and the search for identity in daily routine.
It is one of the most introspective films in this year’s provincial selection.
The screening will take place on Tuesday 26 May at 16:30 at Kinépolis cinemas (Plaza Mar 2).
