A casting is not an exam
A casting is not an exam, it is a search.
This is something Bárbara Barone, actress and director of Human Art Casting, constantly reminds actors who are starting to face auditions.
If you are not chosen for a role, it does not necessarily mean your audition went badly.
Very often you simply don’t fit the profile the project needs at that moment.
Understanding this helps take the pressure off, handle frustration better and treat every casting as a chance to show your work, not as an exam to pass or fail.
